I don’t use my fireplace…do i still need a chimney service?

Some people may not use their fireplace, but they should still have their chimney serviced once a year to make sure it’s okay to use. Even if you don’t use your fireplace other things will effect the condition of your chimney; such as the weather and animals. Rain, wind and snow can cause damage to your chimney via freeze thaw. Animals, such as raccoons, squirrels, birds can build nests and bring fleas into your home through the chimney. Have your chimney serviced once a year just to make sure caps and the structure is intact and that there are no possible obstructions to the proper ventilation of your system.
